Peacefully at his home in Bracebridge,
surrounded by his loving family, Ron passed away Saturday, March
19, 2005 after a courageous battle with malignant melanoma.
Cherished husband and best friend of Lorraine (nee Tyleman).
Loving father and father-in-law of Daniel and Deborah, Michael
and Davina, and Scott and Connie. He will be sadly missed by his
precious grandchildren Jordan, Patrick, David, Catharine,
Alexander, Kyle, Courtney, Brandyn, Alanah as well as his
constant canine companion Luger. Predeceased by his parents
Daniel and Eileen and his sister Shirley Johnson. Survived by a
sister Doreen. Loving son-in-law of Francis and the late
Reginald Tyleman. Dear brother-in-law of Reginald and Maureen
Tyleman, and Frank and the late Gail Tyleman. Ron is survived by
several nieces and nephews.
Ron was a proud member of the Hamilton
Fire Department, with over 34 years of service. He was a
dedicated association representative serving as the President of
the Hamilton Professional Fire Fighters Association as well the
Executive Vice-President of the Ontario Professional Fire
Fighters Associations.
Ron was a member of numerous
community service groups including the Hamilton Mountain Kiwanis
Club, the Hamilton Santa Claus Parade Committee, the Lions club
of Bracebridge and the Citizens Advisory Committee to the
Correctional Services of Canada. Ron was a past member of the
Ontario Board of Parole and the Hamilton Region Conservation
Authority. Ron was a member of the former Hamilton Press Club,
the Hamilton Police Association Social Club, the Macassa Bay
Yacht Club, the Golden Horseshoe Outdoor club and the
Bracebridge Royal Canadian Legion. Ron was a resident of
Bracebridge for the last five years and was a long time resident
of Hamilton.
