The family of Neil McFadyen sadly announce that after a courageous and inspiring battle he died peacefully at his home and with his family at his side on Wednesday, September 26, 2001. He leaves his best friend and loving wife Joan, his proud sons Craig and Mark, his admiring daughter-in-law Marjory and his devoted grandchildren Dylan, Brendan and Lauren. Predeceased by sisters jessie and Kathleen and by brother Dugald. Neil also leaves sisters Lillian, Anne and Nora, brothers Alec and Kenny, brother-in-law Ernie and many nieces and nephews all of whome respected and admired Uncle Neil. His friends and neighbours and golfing and tennis partners will fondly remember Neil.

Neil served with distinction on the Hamilton Fire Department from 1954 until 1992 rising to the rank of Assistant Deputy Chief. He was a trusted friend of Leonard Saltmarsh.

Flowers are gratefully declined but a donation in Neil's name made to the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre, 835 King Street West, Kitchener, ON N2G 1G3 would be appreciated.

Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service celebrating Neil's life will be arranged and announced.
