On May 19, 2015 James passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Beloved husband of Joan. Loving father of Gerie (Mike) Simpson, Jodi (Bill) Richardson, Tara (Mark) Moodie, Tonya (Ken) Cameron, Andrea (Alston) Carey, Shawna (Allan) Johnson. He will be greatly missed by his 16 grandchildren and one ding-bat (Jai) and one great-grandchild. Pre-deceased by his father Norman. Survived by his mother Irene and his sisters Pam and Trish.

James was a proud fire-fighter of 30 years with Hamilton Fire Department.

Following his service with Hamilton Fire Department, James enjoyed being a school bus driver for 15 years.

James was a proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon) holding many callings within the church.
