It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Ross John Blair
on Wednesday, June 24th, 2026, who passed away peacefully at Juravinski
Hospital in his 79th year, after a short battle with Cancer.
In March this year, Ross lost his brother, David Blair (Barbara) of
Mount Hope. He is survived by his sister, Frances Roberts (Wayne) of
Ancaster, and will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, and
cousins whom he enjoyed so much.Born in Hamilton, Ross was predeceased by his parents, John and Olive Blair. Ross was the loving husband of Donna Hamilton of Ancaster, father to Joseph Blair (Seana) and Katie Sye (Jerome), both of Kentucky, and stepfather to Christine Henson (Dave) of Waterdown and Brenda Greene (Dan) of Guelph. Special Grampy to eight grandchildren, Brooklyn, Austin, Lexington, Ava, Andrew, Caroline, Chloe and Hannah. Ross was a Firefighter in Hamilton for 35 years. When not working as a Firefighter, he drove a bus for Canada Coach, worked as a drywaller, was always involved in building projects and also helped build a house for a friend. Ross was an avid golfer and was part of the “Dirty Dozen” at the “Ranch”In his youth, Ross loved working on cars. He had a lifelong love for music, played the piano and the guitar, and loved singing Karaoke. Ross loved to make people laugh and always had a joke to tell, even in his last months. The Family would like to thank the doctors and the nursing team for their care of Ross during his hospital stays, and special thanks to the Home Care Nurses Mara and Leo. A Celebration of Life will be held at Circle of Life Cremation and Burial Centre, 100 King Street East, Dundas, on Saturday, July 4th, 2026, from 1 pm to 4 pm. Spoken words of remembrance at 2 p.m. to be livestreamed on the website. (additional parking at the adjacent Air Force Club).
